looks awesome!! me and two friends are planning do some cycling around Iceland next summer, and I wondered if you could give us some tips? were are planning on using or mountainbikes with some more road like tyres.. but dont know if thats a bad idea because of the disk brakes.. and was it okay to into the highlands without suspension in the fork? best regards Jesper
Hey Jesper, If you want to stay on the main roads (the ring road is all sealed) normal tyres should be fine. If you go into the interior i would recommend getting sturdy tyres, such as the schwalbe marathon xr or extreme as I used. They are definetely more comfortable.. I don's care about suspension because they use up your energy when you bike uphill. I personally just don't like it when I'm cycling a fully loaded bike... But your bikes shouldn't be the problem.. Just be lucky with the weather like I was, that's more important! Have fun preparing your trip! And don't forget the interior, it;s breathtaking!
